Animal Chiropractic – Targeted Mobilization for Improved Mobility
What is Animal Chiropractic?
Animal Chiropractic for dogs, horses and other animals is a manual therapy that focuses on diagnosing and treating functional disorders of the musculoskeletal system – especially the spine and related joints. It is successfully used in both dogs and horses to enhance mobility, well-being, and overall performance.
Chiropractic treatment is generally well tolerated and can lead to improvements after just a few sessions.
Indications
Chiropractic care is suitable both for treating existing conditions and for preventive support in animals under physical strain. Typical areas of application include:
- Restricted movement, irregular gait, lameness
- Back problems, muscular tension
- Difficulty rising, lying down, or bending
- Dragging claws, shortened stride
- Reduced performance or rideability issues
- Preventive care: for sport dogs, horses in training, or older animals to maintain mobility
Treatment
After a thorough assessment of the patient’s medical history and general condition, treatment is carried out by a manual assessment of spinal and joint mobility as well as muscular tension. Based on the findings, targeted, quick impulses are applied to joints with limited motion. Depending on the condition, noticeable improvements may occur after just a few treatments. For chronic or structural problems, a regular, tailored treatment plan may be beneficial. Preventive chiropractic care can also help maintain resilience and detect dysfunctions early.
If you suspect your animal may to be in pain, show movement restrictions, or if you wish to support its long-term performance, I’d be happy to advise you personally!
